The Blue Anchor pub in Helston is one of the oldest original Inns in Britain that is still a working brewery. The Blue Anchor dates back to the 15th century and can claim 600 years of brewing The pub was originally a monks rest house that made a strong honey based brew. Today the Blue anchor still makes a variety of Spingo Ales to traditional recipes. Not that many years ago members of the Views of Cornwall team can remember Spingo being served from a large bath at the bar and being ladled out to cope with the large number of thirsty drinkers on Helston Flora Day Photograph By: Views Of Cornwall Team
